Senior Footwear Buyer

Description Our client in the Retail Industry based in East London is currently looking to employ a Senior Footwear Buyer.

Requirements:
  • Discount Retailer / Buyer experience would be extremely beneficial / advantageous.
  • Senior role – individual must be able to run the department independently.
  • Dynamic, forward-thinking individual who is aware of current and upcoming trends, but with budgets and costs in mind.
  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a Footwear Buying Role.
  • Matric Required.
  • Relevant degree/ diploma (Fashion / Textile / Production / Procurement)- advantageous.
  • Strong numeracy, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel Skills.
  • Always on top of the latest buying trends and tricks.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to the departmental needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid code 8 drivers license – endorsed.
 
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
  • To take charge and procure Footwear products within specified parameters whilst adhering to OTB (Open to Buy) / Purchasing.
  • Budgets, GP, and Markdowns within the business.
  • To manage product processes from conception to delivery of order.
  • To support the needs of the Footwear Department and functions within the business whilst inspiring innovation and future trends.
  • To be proficient across all roles related to the buying department whilst reporting on key areas relating to the business performance.
  • To highlight key areas that aid efficient decision-making within the business.
Product Analysis:
  • Analyse product review and analysis of previous seasons.
  • Report on supplier SWOT.
  • Analyse competitor product and pricing.
  • Interpret global trends in the context of the company’s target markets.
  • Collate product feedback by maintaining close communication with stores.
  • In-depth data analysis of the footwear department as a whole.
  • Reporting on key areas within the footwear department.
  • Monitoring workflow and assisting where necessary.
Assortment Planning and Product Procurement:
  • Place orders to released OTB within agreed criteria/targets and policy.
  • Ensure OTB fulfilment (category and seasonal).
  • Track all order statuses within the Footwear Department.
  • Monitor the data integrity of orders captured.
  • Ensure relevant product for promotional activities.
  • Management of the supply chain from placement of order to delivery, including quality approval.
Current Trade:
  • Weekly analysis of trade against sales plan and adjust forward orders accordingly.
  • Review of best and worst sellers by category and adjust forward orders accordingly.
  • Determine promotional and markdown pricing.
  • Manage outstanding orders and order amendments.
Housekeeping:
  • Maintain cleanliness in office.
