You've applied but now what? Here are some FAQs to help you with your next steps.


I’VE SUBMITTED MY RESUME THROUGH THE HEADHUNTERS WEBSITE. WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS AND HOW SHOULD I FOLLOW UP?

After applying for a vacancy through our website, the relevant Consultant will review your suitability for the position. Should you be a suitable match, the Consultant will contact you to arrange a Virtual interview. 

In some cases, a Consultant may reach out to a candidate that stands out from the crowd, even though a suitable position may not be available at the time. This will allow us to get you on our database, in order to accelerate your application when a suitable position does become available in future.

Please Note: If you have not heard anything from us after 2 weeks of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful.


DO YOU HAVE ANY JOB OPENINGS?

All our available vacancies can be viewed here. Be sure to keep an active eye on our website’s Current Jobs page, as we update this as soon as we receive new vacancies.


WHAT DO I NEED TO HAVE READY FOR MY VIRTUAL HEADHUNTERS INTERVIEW?

We require copies of your supporting documents. These can be emailed to us prior to your Virtual interview. We will ask you for copies of the following:

  • ID
  • Driver’s License (if applicable)
  • Academic Certificates
  • Most Recent Payslip

Upon receiving your Virtual Interview Request, we will also send you indemnity forms to complete, which give us permission to share your confidential information with our clients, as well as to run checks on you.


WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY EXTERNAL INTERVIEW?

Remember the Tip: Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. You only get one chance to make a first impression. Dress professionally and let your qualifications and experience showcase the rest.


DOES HEADHUNTERS PLACE TEMPORARY / CONTRACTING STAFF?

Headhunters’ primary focus is on permanent recruitment, as we are not a temporary agency or labour broker.


I’VE SEEN A VACANCY I’M INTERESTED IN, HOW DO I APPLY?

When you see a position you’re interested in, please ensure that you take into account all the requirements of the position.

It is very important to complete your information correctly and in full and to attach your updated CV.
You will be able to use the same account you’ve created to apply for more than one job.

By applying for a specific position, your CV will be sent directly to the Consultant dealing with that vacancy.

PLEASE NOTE: Should you not hear anything from us within 2 weeks of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful.

We unfortunately do not accept general applications or hand delivered CV’s. Due to the volume of CV’s we would receive, it becomes impossible to manage.


I’VE APPLIED FOR A VACANCY I SAW, HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE BEFORE THE CONSULTANT CONTACTS ME?

If you do not receive feedback within 2 weeks of submission, please consider your application unsuccessful and kindly keep an eye on our website and other career sites for future opportunities that may arise.


I’M APPLYING FOR A GRADUATE POSITION AVAILABLE, WHAT DO I NEED TO SEND TO APPLY?

  • When applying for graduate positions, your qualification and results will be the focus point.
  • In your cover page, motivate why you are the best candidate for the job.
  • Your CV should highlight your achievements.
  • Attach your full academic transcript.

I AM BACK IN THE MARKET, BUT HAVEN’T SEEN ANY POSITIONS THAT I WILL BE SUITED FOR, WHAT CAN I DO TO GET MY CV ONTO YOUR DATABASE?

Because of the volume of CV’s we receive, we do not accept general applications. The best thing for you to do is to keep an active eye on our Current Jobs page for suitable opportunities that may become available in future.


HOW MUCH WILL THE AGENCY CHARGE ME IF I AM SUCCESSFUL FOR A POSITION?

We do not charge our candidates any fees whatsoever!


I’M ALREADY ON YOUR DATABASE, WHAT CAN I DO TO SEE IF YOU HAVE A JOB I WANT TO APPLY FOR?

Please keep an active eye on our website – we keep our site up-to-date. If there are any suitable positions which grab your attention, please contact our offices to speak to the Consultant you initially met with to discuss whether your experience meets the requirements of the position. The Consultant will then market your CV once again.


IF I EMAIL MY APPLICATION TO YOU, AM I AUTOMATICALLY ADDED TO THE DATABASE?

Because of the volume of CV’s we receive daily, it is impossible to add every application to our database. We, therefore, add you to our database once you come in for an interview at Headhunters.
