Technical Sales Engineer

Description Our client in the Engineering industry, is looking to employ a Technical Sales Engineer to their team based in Port Elizabeth.

Responsibilities:
  • Identify new business opportunities.
  • Provide tailored solutions to customers through building strong relationships and understanding customers’ needs.
  • Service and grow existing customer base; including cold calling.
  • Manage inter-branch stock transfers and administration in line with company processes.
  • Full stock control function; customer stock maintenance and stock holding; maintain an orderly stockroom, categorize inventory effectively, and follow stock control processes.  
  • Manage and implement well-organized systems to improved inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Grow sales volume within existing customer base. 
  • Keep all necessary paperwork and records of relevant daily sales activities up to date. 
  • Identify opportunities and conduct tests, demonstrations and presentations to showcase product quality and benefits to customers. 
  • Work closely with the sales team, nationally, and other key departments. 
  • Attend individual and branch performance meetings with management to determine progress regarding agreed KPI’s.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts and reports to management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to capitalize on new opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Matric.
  • Relevant qualifications advantageous.
  • Experience working with manufacturing machines, including but not limited to CNC, milling, lathes, etc. 
  • Experience in the cutting tools industry and understanding of carbide cutting tools and applications. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Proven sales record; selling carbide tooling products an advantage.
  • Self-driven, dynamic and results-driven.
