Instructional Designer

Description Our client in the Automotive Industry based in Centurion, Gauteng is currently looking to employ an Instructional Designer. 

Qualification Requirements:
  • A qualification in Computer Integrated Education / Multimedia Design or relevant field of study or equivalent qualification with 5 years’ relevant working experience.
  • Certification with regards to content development tools is highly recommended, for example SABA Publisher or Articulate Storyline.
Experience Requirements:
  • Proven work experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
  • Solid knowledge of course development software and at least one Learning Management System
  • Instructional design experience in at least one instructional authoring software
  • Experience in instructional design and development of web, mobile or multimedia products
  • Participation in projects with a multi-disciplinary team approach
  • Educational / teaching / training experience and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge and experience regarding the innovative design and establishment of quality teaching / learning environments for successful e-learning, including mobile learning
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of instructional design and e-assessment principles in higher education
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of learning theories in e-learning, hybrid learning or blended.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:

1.  Design and Development:

  • Scope requirements.
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
  • Analyse the characteristics of existing and emerging technologies and their potential use.
  • Decide on the best methodology for delivering the learning content, by use of the ADDIE model.
  • Design and develops instructional interventions/materials (including learner and facilitator guides).
  • Use an instructional design and development process, according to the defined needs in the Preliminary Learning Brief (PLB) and set timelines.
  • Access FastTrain and/or Digital Training Centre to obtain content for development or for accessing SCORM files for loading on iLearn.
2. Implementation:
  • All requests processed and delivered on time according to requestor requirements and submission of content.
  • Apply tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods.
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
  • Utilise available development software to devise courses and programmes.
  • Select or modify existing instructional materials.
  • Align all content development, to meet learning objectives (WBT, VCT and ILT).
  • Provide one-on-one (both face-to-face and online) consultation to subject matter experts and business in exploring possibilities and constructing content.
  • Create interactive animated graphics, videos and simulations by use of Adobe Creative Cloud and Development tools, i.e. Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Vyond, Synthesia.
  • Ensure all multimedia content designed can be hosted on company hardware.
