Description Condition Monitoring Technician - Macassar, CPT. 

Our client in the Services Industry based in Macassar, Cape Town is currently looking to employ a Condition Monitoring Technician. 


Requirements:
  • Matric / Grade 12 OR Technical Grade 12 (NQF Level 4 qualification) tertiary qualification equivalent. 
  • Vibration Analysis Category II ISO certified.
  • Infra-Red Scanning Level 1 certified.
  • Tribology / Oil analysis Level 1.
  • Lazer alignment trailing.
  • Minimum of 3 Years relevant plant working experience in the maintenance department and condition monitoring (preferably in the water treatment industry).
  • Experience in condition monitoring and compiling of monthly ConMon trend reports.
  • High level of computer literacy in MS Office (Excel, Word and Power Point).
  • Planning and logistical skills.
  • Minimum Valid Code 08 driver's license.
  • Must be prepared to travel long distances if required.
  • Must be willing to perform after hours duties and to respond promptly if required.
  • Proven record of satisfactory prior performance.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with VIBEEXPERT11 Vibration Analysis, FLIR E75 Thermal Imaging Camera and FIXTURE Lazer Alignment tools would be an advantage.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
  • Carry out routine and non-routine machinery condition monitoring data collection using data collectors and computerized condition monitoring systems.
  • Carry out trouble-shooting, failure investigation, performance testing of existing equipment and commissioning checks of newly installed equipment; assist with alignment of equipment.
  • Carry out vibration analysis and performance evaluation (on compressors, motors and pumps) as per Preventative Maintenance Schedule and ad-hoc requirements.
  • Identify and report equipment / machinery showing potential mechanical fatigue and recommend necessary preventative / corrective actions.
  • Assist and carry out troubleshooting and failure investigations (root cause analysis) and coordinate with relevant area maintenance Supervisors / Managers / Plant Managers, in troubleshooting activities.
  • Develop condition monitoring, lubrication and oil analyses routine checks schedules for plant equipment.
  • Monitor physical condition of plant assets and report same for preventive / corrective actions.
  • Perform monthly equipment vibration & heat trend analysis evaluations, compile and submit ConMon monthly reports.
  • Participate in audits and reviews of the condition monitoring functions to identify actions for continuous improvement.
  • Operate according to and maintain Safety, Health and Environment and Quality Standards and Procedures.
  • Always note and be aware of and include risks of any nature to the reliability and efficiency condition of M&E as part of reporting.
  • Condition monitoring to include report on status and actions required i.t.o. anti-corrosion protection - more specifically on required sites.
