Our client is currently looking to employ a Head of Technology (EE) based in Sandton, Gauteng.
Requirements:
- A suitable tertiary qualification (A university degree in Engineering or equivalent / a post-graduate degree in business management would be advantageous)
- Extensive experience in the telecommunications industry including at least some supply side experience and exposure.
- Industry-specific competency and expertise in telco site design, build and maintenance.
- Business process experience, including budgeting, reporting and utilising ERP systems.
- Familiarity and experience of using personal productivity software such as Microsoft Office, Google or similar.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Product Strategy Development: Develop and refine the product strategy in alignment with the company's overall goals and market trends. This involves understanding customer needs, competitive analysis, and technology trends in the telecommunications industry.
- Product Roadmap Planning: Create and maintain a product roadmap that outlines the vision and direction for the company's product portfolio. This involves prioritising features and enhancements through acquisition, R&D and partnerships based on customer feedback, market research, and business objectives.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure alignment on product goals, timelines, and priorities. Collaborate with these teams to bring products to market efficiently and effectively.
- Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire product lifecycle from ideation to retirement. This includes product planning, development, launch, and ongoing support and maintenance.
- Market Analysis and Research: Conduct market analysis and research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive threats. Use this information to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions.
- Customer Engagement: Act as the voice of the customer within the organisation, gathering feedback and insights to improve products and drive customer satisfaction continuously.
- Revenue and Profitability Management: Drive revenue and profitability growth through effective product management strategies. This involves setting pricing strategies, managing product margins, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Performance Measurement and Optimisation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of product initiatives. Continuously monitor and analyse product performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing product management team. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to team members to foster their growth and success.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that products comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, especially in the telecommunications sector, where compliance is critical.
- Partnership Management: Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with vendors, suppliers, and technology partners to enhance the company's product offerings and capabilities.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate product development, launch, and ongoing operations risks. This includes anticipating potential challenges and developing contingency plans to address them.
