Head of Operations

Description Our client based in Sandton, Gauteng is currently looking to employ a Head of Operations.

Requirements:
  • Matric with mathematics.
  • An appropriate and suitable tertiary qualification in logistics, engineering, procurement or finance would be an advantage.
  • Procurement, Logistics and Warehouse Management Experience. 
  • Facilities Management Experience.
  • OHS legislation and regulations as applicable and Quality (ISO 9000:2015).
  • Advanced user of MS Office and/or Google Suite.
  • Operational planning and scheduling experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Syspro MRP or similar systems.
  • Fundamentals of business economics, finance and costing models.
  • Management and supervisory skills.                            
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:
Procurement:
  • Procurement of raw materials for production based on requirements analysis using the MRP functionality of the accounting system.
  • Procurement of goods and materials from offshore vendors.
  • Procurement of goods and materials from local vendors.
  • Management of staff and contractors involved in procurement.
Inbound Logistics:
  • Expediting and control of inbound shipping.
  • Liaising with shipping companies.
  • Receipting of goods.
  • Inbound inspections and QC.
Warehousing:
  • Proper and safe storage of all materials and products.
  • Regular cyclical stock takes.
  • Obsolescence management and minimisation of losses due to obsolescence.
  • Prevention of pilferage and losses due to mistakes.
  • Management of staff and contractors involved in warehousing.
Outbound Logistics:
  • Daily verification of required deliveries, picking, packing and despatching.
  • Management and control of delivery contractors.
  • Continuous liaison with salespeople to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Liaising with courier companies and coordinating of company’s deliveries, customer collections and courier collections.
  • Daily verification of delivery notes against invoices and corrections when required.
  • Outbound QC.
Facilities Management:
  • Building and premises maintenance, equipment maintenance and adherence to SHEQ and ISO requirements.
  • Physical security and management of the outsourced security company's personnel.
  • Access control, attendance, burglar and fire alarms and surveillance system.
  • Cleaning services and management of the outsourced cleaning company's personnel.
