Our client in the Automotive Component Manufacturing Sector, is looking to employ a Shift Supervisor, based in Elandsfontein, Gauteng.

Requirements:

  • Certificate in Warehousing / Logistics / Supply Chain or a related field (NQF 5).

  • Up to 3 years’ experience in Logistics / Warehousing / Supply Chain operations.

  • Working knowledge of a warehouse environment.

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

  • Computer literacy in MS Office Suite and SAP/ERP systems.

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of relevant warehousing, logistics and planning processes.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Assertive, resilient and results-driven.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

Responsibilities:

Operational Execution:

  • Manage the overall shift operations and resources, ensuring efficiency and safety.

  • Verify and capture receiving information on SAP.

  • Conduct daily checks on product voltage, cleanliness, and presentation.

  • Perform daily cycle counts and assist with monthly stocktakes.

  • Process SAV to seconds for damages or double code products.

  • Identify and escalate slow-moving and obsolete stock.

  • Oversee the labelling process and minimize errors.

  • Ensure all picking activities are scanned and recorded.

  • Coordinate daily dispatch in line with delivery schedules and load reports.

  • Supervise and assist in the debriefing of returning vehicles.

  • Plan daily activities and workloads for efficient workflow.

  • Ensure seamless handovers between shifts.

  • Address customer-related issues or complaints timeously.

  • Identify and implement process improvements.

People Management:

  • Conduct ongoing training and development for employees.

  • Address employee relations matters promptly and fairly.

  • Manage staff leave and sign off weekly and monthly payroll.

  • Monitor staff performance, provide feedback and coaching.

  • Conduct conflict resolution when required.

  • Ensure new employees are trained on operations, safety, and policies.

  • Identify training and development opportunities for staff.

Compliance:

  • Enforce compliance with applicable regulations, safety, and operational procedures.

  • Identify and report risks or areas of concern.

  • Maintain housekeeping standards and safety practices within the warehouse.

  • Manage low-voltage stock handling and scrap processes.

  • Implement and uphold quality control procedures.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce corrective actions.

Reporting and Administration:

  • Review and sign off dispatch records and reports.

  • Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly KPI tracking.

  • Submit timely HR reports covering staff hours, sick leave, and behavioral issues.

  • Maintain accurate records of operational activities and incidents.

  • Provide regular shift performance feedback to management.

  • Ensure warehouse equipment is well-maintained and report maintenance needs.
