Description

Our client, a leader in the Manufacturing Industry, is looking to employ a Senior Electrical Technician to their team based in Marlboro, Gauteng.

Requirements:

  • Wiremans license (single and 3 phase) is non-negotiable
  • Minimum N4 - N6 National Diploma.
  • Qualified Installation Electrician with Wiremans License. 
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • PV Greencard and Working at Heights training - Advantageous. 
  • Computer literate with MS Office and/or Google Suite.
  • Communicate Fluent in English (Write and Speak).
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Previous Experience in installation and support of UPS systems will be an advantage.
  • Previous Experience in installation of Solar PV solutions (Residential and Commercial) will be an advantage.
  • Previous Experience in installation of General Electrical work in Commercial and Industrial sector.
  • Must be willing to travel to sites throughout the country. 
  • Must be prepared to work overtime or possibly weekends if required. 

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

1. Stakeholders (Internal and External):

  • Foster and improve customer relationships.
  • Foster and improve internal staff relationships.
  • Cooperate with senior to assist in operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Carry out any other duties assigned by senior.

2. Operational Performance:

  • Comply with all rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Company.
  • Complete timesheets weekly and accurate.
  • Ensure that if there are internal or external escalations that the escalations happen as quick as possible and with all relevant information.
  • Assist in upholding installation and workmanship standards as laid down by procedure.
  • Ensure maintenance of housekeeping standards by keeping work area clean and tidy at all times.
  • Installations and servicing of equipment at various sites throughout the country.
  • Ensure wiring and installations are all in line with applicable standards.
  • Conduct COCs and take full responsibility of your role as an Electrician, as regulated.
  • Pre-installation: Carry out on-site assessments of potential solar installations, UPS installations, other electrical installations to determine detailed scope of work.

3. Growth and Profitability:

  • Ensure that all jobs, projects or calls are delivered within scope, time, cost and quality to meet customer needs and requirements.
  • Identify where cost savings can be implemented.
  • Identify new opportunities at a customer that are chargeable.
  • Handle technical enquiries regarding UPS, inverters, on the telephone or via e-mail.
  • Carry out repairs of UPSs and Inverters.
  • Pre-installation: Carry out on-site assessments of potential solar installations, UPS installations, other electrical installations to determine detailed scope of work.
