Description

Our client in the logistics industry, is seeking a New Business Development Consultant. The successful candidate must be based in the Pretoria area and will primarily work remotely, with a requirement to attend the office every Friday for sales meetings.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Matric Certificate.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in sales or business development, ideally within the logistics or transport industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Skilled in persuasive negotiation and delivering effective presentations.
  • Self-driven, results-focused, and capable of working autonomously.

Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:

Lead Generation

  • Proactively research and network to identify prospective clients within target markets.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline aligned with performance targets.
  • Conduct cold calls, set up meetings, and engage with potential clients to present logistics services.

Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for client inquiries throughout the onboarding phase.
  • Assess client requirements to deliver tailored logistics solutions that meet their specific needs.

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Create and present persuasive sales proposals and presentations to potential clients.
  • Lead pricing and service negotiations to close deals that support the company’s strategic goals.

 Market Analysis

  • Track industry trends and competitor movements to uncover potential business opportunities.
  • Report insights on market dynamics and customer behavior to support strategic decision-making.

Reporting and Administration

  • Accurately log all sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
