Our Client in the Dairy Industry is seeking to employ an experienced Senior Demand Planner to their team based in Humansdorp.
Requirements:
- Degree in Logistics (BCom), Industrial Engineering (B.Eng.), or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in manufacturing or FMCG environments, with a strong focus on forecasting, inventory management, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP).
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience is required in a dedicated demand planning or planning manager role.
- Must be proficient in statistical forecasting methods and have hands-on experience with planning systems such as SAP/APO, Oracle, Manugistics/JDA, or Barnton.
- Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and facilitation skills are essential, along with a proven ability to lead cross-functional meetings and drive consensus.
- Experience in managing demand risks, promotions, new product launches, and product phase-outs is required.
- Familiar with change management practices and aligning processes across business functions.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Will be responsible for generating accurate, data-driven forecasts across multiple time horizons.
- Facilitate alignment between commercial and operational teams to ensure consistent planning.
- The role includes statistical modelling, system management, and active participation in the S&OP cycle, particularly through the facilitation of Pre-Demand Management Review (Pre-DMR) and Demand Management Review (DMR) sessions.
- Will collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to align forecasts, identify market trends, and improve overall forecast accuracy and responsiveness.
- Will have a key role in meeting market demand and will also support the transition to a new demand planning software, while leading related change management initiatives.
