Description

Our client in the Manufacturing Industry is currently looking to employ an Export Area Manager to be based in Elandsfontein.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales and Marketing or related field (NQF 7).

  • Bachelor’s Honours Degree in Sales and Marketing or related field (NQF 8) will be advantageous.

  • 6–8 years’ experience in Sales and Marketing within a manufacturing environment.

  • At least 3 years’ exposure to the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) sales environment.

  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office Suite, SAP, ERP systems, and job-specific software).

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Proactive, action-oriented, and resilient.

  • Strong relationship-building and customer-focused approach.

  • Ability to plan, organise, and manage people effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive and grow market share (including exports and sales) of products by brand and SKU.

  • Develop and implement action plans aligned with export strategies.

  • Identify and target new business opportunities and prepare business cases.

  • Introduce and implement marketing and promotion ideas in alignment with strategy.

  • Conduct bi-weekly meetings with management on the status of new business.

  • Monitor and analyse customer buying patterns to forecast stock requirements.

  • Ensure optimal stock availability by liaising with warehouses and assisting customers with stock management.

  • Co-manage debtors by ensuring timeous collection of outstanding monies and mitigating risks.

  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding credit terms, payments, and statements.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure all permits and customer accounts are managed effectively.

  • Ensure administration, document control, and reporting systems are accurate and up to date.

  • Establish and maintain strong stakeholder and customer relationships to drive retention.

  • Resolve customer complaints and issues in a timely manner.

  • Monitor performance of internal and external service providers and implement development plans.

  • Contribute to budget preparation, monitor expenditure, and implement cost-saving initiatives.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.

Development and Training:

  • Identify areas of personal and professional growth and pursue relevant development.

  • Provide guidance and training to team members where applicable.

Other:

  • Perform any other reasonable duties as instructed by management that contribute to the success of the organisation.

  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
