Description

Our client, a market leader, is currently seeking to appoint a Parts Sales Representative, based in Humansdorp.

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years’ experience in parts sales or a similar role.
  • Experience in workshop or service operations.
  • Understanding of parts procurement and supply chain processes.
  • Ability to monitor and report on department activity.
  • Proven problem-solving, planning and decision-making skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
  • Knowledge of agricultural mechanisation machinery/equipment is advantageous.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Ensure efficient sales, coordination and record-keeping of all parts and general service activities.
  • Oversee daily operations of the parts department.
  • Order parts stock to maintain correct stock levels, correct specifications and quality, with a view to improving gross profit.
  • Ensure weekly availability of parts.
  • Handle parts sales and invoicing.
  • Conduct daily and weekly checks to ensure smooth parts-department operations.
  • Receive and dispatch parts orders.
  • Maintain accurate service and parts records and reports.
  • Provide clear instructions to suppliers/contractors with full scope of requirements to prevent add-ons and unplanned costs.
  • Perform parts stock take: spot checks monthly and full counts semiannually.
  • Liaise with walk-in clients.
  • Handle client complaints and work with management to resolve them.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in the parts area.

Purchasing & Finance Management

  • Meet daily, weekly and monthly deadlines.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain parts and tool inventory; manage supplier quotations, purchase orders and invoice approvals.
  • Oversee equipment stock, place orders when necessary, manage receipt and stock control.
  • Forecast, order and negotiate pricing for spare parts inventory.

Health & Safety

  • Keep the parts room neat, organized, and properly marked.
  • Accept and fulfil SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) regulatory appointments when required.

Fleet Management

  • Coordinate with relevant departments to ensure parts can be ordered in time for services.
  • Verify correct parts are used during service and ensure unused parts are returned to stock or the supplier.

Communications & Reporting

  • Maintain professional relationships with heads of departments.
  • Ensure all communication (written and verbal) aligns with company conduct standards and is professional.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to service queries and complaints.
  • Present oneself professionally, upholding company reputation.

Human Resources / Leadership

  • Work to a flexible schedule.
  • Set departmental objectives / KPIs and review performance of direct reports.
  • Report on target achievements and identify corrective actions when needed.
