Our Client, a prominent brand in the Market Research and Data Analytics space, is seeking to employ an experienced Data Scientist to their team based in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in Data Science.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, SQL, and statistical tools (e.g., SPSS, SAS).
• Strong experience in data mining, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling.
• Extensive experience with pattern recognition and predictive modeling.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Gather and process large volumes of structured and unstructured data to identify trends and patterns.
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and accuracy using statistical techniques.
• Develop additional data review methods and more efficient processes through statistical design.
• Design sampling methodologies and universes for new projects during setup phases.
• Evaluate and refine sampling designs for existing projects.
• Apply weighting techniques to survey data for representativeness.
• Support survey design using statistical principles to ensure validity and reliability.
• Develop streamlined restatement processes to avoid step changes in data.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project health issues and develop solutions.
• Manage and implement data rework/restatement processes for tracking projects.
• Apply modeling approaches to solve challenges related to data universes.
• Work with cross-functional teams to apply insights and guide data usage.
• Conduct complex data investigations and analysis.
• Act as a data strategist by integrating existing and new datasets to enhance product capabilities.
• Partner with engineering teams on the development of data products.
• Stay updated with the latest tools, AI technologies, and data science methods.
• Advise on innovative data collection strategies and recommend best-fit approaches.
