Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking to appoint an experienced Roaming Store Manager to join their team based in Maitland, Cape Town.
Requirements:

Minimum: Diploma in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing (NQF 6).

Advantageous: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing (NQF 7).

Minimum: 5 years’ experience in Retail Sales or Marketing.
-
At least 3 years at Supervisory or Managerial level.
-
Computer literacy (MS Office Suite and relevant retail/ERP systems).
-
Knowledge of retail operations, sales administration, and marketing strategies.
-
Strong understanding of inventory, stock control, and financial management.
-
Familiarity with compliance, risk management, and health & safety standards.
-
Proactive and action oriented.
-
Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours (including weekends and public holidays).
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
1. Retail Store Management (40%)
-
Travel frequently between stores within the allocated region.
-
Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth functioning and compliance with company standards.
-
Identify customer requirements and ensure merchandise and service availability.
-
Implement pricing policies, promotional activities, and clearance sales.
-
Review financial and operational data to improve profitability.
-
Safeguard stock, staff, and customers through security and safety measures.
-
Ensure legal compliance and maintain store reputation.
-
Schedule, assign, and follow up on staff responsibilities to meet store goals.
2. Sales and Business Administration (10%)
-
Source and establish new customer accounts.
-
Assist in credit application processes and monitor account activity.
-
Track monthly sales per customer and take corrective action where required.
-
Introduce and align promotional initiatives with company marketing strategy.
-
Support the Operations Manager with market share growth and customer base expansion.
3. Compliance (10%)
-
Operate within established company controls, procedures, and policies.
-
Identify and monitor risks, ensuring risk registers are up to date.
-
Report discrepancies and areas of concern to management.
-
Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and legislative requirements.
-
Provide and maintain a safe and compliant working environment across all stores.
4. Customer Service Management (20%)
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
-
Represent the company in stakeholder meetings.
-
Resolve customer complaints promptly, ensuring minimal comebacks.
-
Uphold service level agreements and compliance standards.
5. Staff Supervision (10%)
-
Ensure performance agreements are signed by all employees.
-
Conduct quarterly performance appraisals and set objectives.
-
Identify training and development needs with HR and implement action plans.
-
Drive continuous employee development and training.
-
Address employee relations issues promptly and fairly.
6. Cost and Financial Control (10%)
-
Contribute to the preparation and implementation of budgets.
-
Monitor and control expenditure within budgetary limits.
-
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
-
Optimize company resources to reduce operational costs.
-
Monitor gross profit daily and implement corrective actions when necessary.
