Our client in the manufacturing industry is seeking to appoint an experienced Store Manager to join their team based in Maitland, Cape Town.
Requirements:

Diploma in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing (NQF 6).

Advantageous: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing (NQF 7).
-
5 years’ experience in Retail Sales or Marketing.
-
At least 3 years at Supervisory level.
-
Computer literacy (MS Office Suite and other relevant systems).
-
Knowledge of compliance, risk management, and financial controls.
-
Understanding of retail operations and marketing practices.
-
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
1. Retail Store Management (50%)
-
Develop, recommend, and implement strategic and operational plans for the store.
-
Identify customer requirements and ensure availability of merchandise and services.
-
Manage pricing policies, promotional activities, and clearance sales.
-
Study trends, review financial and operating statements, and apply findings to improve profitability.
-
Implement effective merchandising, advertising, and display strategies.
-
Maintain security systems to safeguard stock, employees, and customers.
-
Ensure the store is safe, clean, and compliant with legal requirements.
-
Schedule and assign employees, monitoring work progress and results.
2. Compliance (10%)
-
Operate within controls and procedures to ensure integrity of The Company.

Identify and monitor risks within the store and maintain a risk register.
-
Report discrepancies or areas of concern to management.
-
Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and frameworks to prevent fruitless, wasteful, or irregular expenditure.
-
Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards, ensuring employees are trained and compliant.
3. Customer Service Management (20%)
-
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers.
-
Represent The Company at stakeholder meetings.
-
Identify and resolve customer-related issues promptly and with integrity.
-
Uphold service level agreements and compliance standards.
4. Staff Supervision (10%)
-
Ensure all employees have signed performance agreements.
-
Conduct quarterly performance appraisals.
-
Work with HR to identify development needs and implement training plans.
-
Drive continuous employee training and development.
-
Address employee relations matters fairly and promptly.
5. Cost and Financial Control (10%)
-
Contribute to the annual budget preparation process.
-
Monitor and control expenditure within budget limits.
-
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives.
-
Prevent wasteful expenditure through effective financial oversight.
