Our Client in the Engineering Industry is seeking to employ a Senior Designer to their team based in Port Elizabeth.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Knowledge of South African engineering codes and regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• 5–10 years of experience using Autodesk suite of products on engineering projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, estimating, contractors, suppliers, and customers.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical products and systems.
• Experience in drawing and editing P&ID drawings.
• Experience with Quality systems (ISO 9001:2015).
• Valid driver’s license (mandatory).
• Valid passport and ability to travel.
• Knowledge of Odoo ERP (advantageous).
• 3D printing design and manufacturing experience (advantageous).
• Knowledge of automated equipment and robotic systems (advantageous).

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

• Understand and define project scope clearly.
• Generate presentation drawings for approval.
• Perform engineering and design calculations (flow, thermodynamic, pneumatic, etc.).
• Produce 3D purpose-built designs using Autodesk suite.
• Develop 2D detailing with BOMs.
• Create manufacturing drawings from 3D models.
• Apply correct technical symbols and standards in designs.
• Prepare and send laser cut DXFs for pricing.
• Select and liaise with sub-suppliers.
• Manage quality control and documentation processes.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with company procedures.
• Prepare reports and maintain project documentation.
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety requirements.
• Oversee engineering deliverables from concept to completion.
