Description

Our Client, a prominent brand in the FMCG Industry, is seeking to employ an experienced Financial Accountant to their team based in Maitland, Cape Town.

Requirements:

  • B.Com Honours degree or equivalent qualification.
  • CIMA qualification (preferred or in progress).
  • Advanced accounting and financial management expertise.
  • Strong administrative and organizational ability.
  • Understanding of company policies, procedures, and operational functions.
  • Sound numeric and analytical ability.
  • Knowledge of creditors and reconciliations.
  • Experience with budgeting and expense control.
  • Familiarity with F8 accounting principles / IFRS standards.
  • Proficiency in CaseWare and related financial software.
  • Experience preparing and analyzing consolidated financial statements.
  • Understanding of cash flow and free cash flow processes.
  • Knowledge of audit procedures and financial compliance.
  • Understanding of stock purchasing and commission structures.
  • Experience in the production of management accounts.
  • Ability to process, synthesize, and interpret complex financial data.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Prepare individual and consolidated financial statements for the group.
  • Review cash flow performance versus targets on a monthly basis.
  • Update and review “open-to-buy” targets and monitor expenditure.
  • Prepare and control the annual expense budget within company parameters.
  • Manage and control actual expenses in line with budget allocations.
  • Compile and present the financial section of the Board Pack.
  • Analyze and review financial discrepancies and variances.
  • Ensure all expenses are properly accounted for and accrued in the correct periods.
  • Ensure management accounts are issued accurately and on time (within 5 working days).
  • Reconcile hours worked, volumes delivered, and cost per unit/kg.
  • Maintain full accountability for account reconciliations, addressing reconciling items promptly.
  • Ensure accuracy of balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and pre-payments.
  • Calculate premiums, finance charges, and other relevant cost allocations.
  • Perform financial postings and adjustments in the ledger.
  • Coordinate and manage payroll processing for regional operations (e.g., cross-border teams).
  • Manage and coordinate promotional item accounting.
  • Prepare logistics cost breakdowns and analyses for management review.
