Our client, a multidisciplinary engineering firm, is seeking to hire an Assistant Engineer’s Representative for a fixed-term contract position. Candidates must be available to start immediately.

Location: (Site based) Nqushwa Local Municipality, Eastern Cape. +- 80 km from East London.

Travel: Approved travel expenses reimbursed. 

Requirements:

• Education: BTech or ND or Beng Tech (Civil) from a recognized South African institution.
• Professional Registration: Pr Tech Eng or Pr Techi Eng registration with ECSA.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years of post-graduate site experience.
  
• Training: Labour-Intensive Construction unit standard at NQF Level 5 (SAQA-accredited).
• Experience: Successfully executed at least ONE (1) bridge construction projects in a lead/ site representative capacity.
• Availability: Full-time site presence for the contract duration.

Job Description:

• Support the Engineer’s Representative with bridge supervision and contract administration tasks. 
• Monitor workmanship, quality and quantities; maintain daily site diaries and measurement records.
• Assist with reviewing drawings, method statements and HSE documentation. 
• Facilitate stakeholder liaison.
• Day-to-day supervision, quality checks and quantity verification.
• Assist with progress reporting and certification inputs.
• Coordinate with inspectors, survey and materials testing teams.
• Snagging and close-out support.
