Our client, a well-established organisation operating within the legal and financial services industry, is seeking to employ an Junior Legal Advisor to join their team based in Johannesburg. 

Requirements

• LLB, BCom-LLB, or BA-LLB required
• Must be an Admitted Attorney of the High Court with at least 1 year of post-articles experience
• Good foundational knowledge and experience in the following legal fields: Labour, Criminal and Civil
• Ability to work with AI tools such as Chat GPT and an interest in technological changes in the profession
• Computer literacy with Microsoft products
• Able to work well under pressure, have good time management skills and adapt quickly
• Empathetic, want to serve the people of South Africa and believe in the alignment of their role with purpose and values
• Ability to attend to work within certain time prescribed periods

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Provide daily telephonic legal advice to clients
• Correspond on clients’ behalf
• Collaborate across departments to resolve client matters
• Utilize AI tools, including My AI Lawyer, to provide efficient and high-quality legal advice
• Ensure effective use of the helpline before escalating cases to the claims department
• Assist clients with legal challenges in line with company services and offerings
