Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Qualified Diesel Trade Test
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a commercial workshop environment
• Code 14 driver’s licence with valid PDP
• Strong technical and mechanical expertise
• Physically fit and able to perform hands-on work
• Ability to read and write in English

Responsibilities:

• Support the Workshop Foreman and maintain strong internal relationships
• Perform all technical tasks to required quality and manufacturer standards
• Accurately record hours worked, parts, lubricants, and consumables on job cards
• Ensure compliance with workshop systems, processes, and procedures
• Build strong relationships with parts department staff
• Participate in training and continuous development initiatives
• Attend breakdowns and work overtime as required (roster-based)
• Maintain professional conduct and customer service at all times
• Ensure correct use of PPE and maintain a clean, presentable work environment
• Comply with all road traffic laws when operating company vehicles
• Support and mentor apprentices, ensuring proper skills transfer
• Complete all apprenticeship documentation and logbooks accurately
• Ensure all work meets required technical and warranty standards (3 C’s: Complaint, Cause, Correction)
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company assets responsibly
• Provide accurate and timely feedback to the Workshop Manager
