Description

Requirements:

  • Certificate in a Technical, Engineering, or Electrical discipline (NQF 5).
  • Trade Tested Artisan (preferably Electrician or Millwright).
  • Certificate in Accounting and Leadership.
  • Diploma in a Technical, Engineering, or Electrical discipline (NQF 6) or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (NQF 7) is advantageous.
  • Up to 10 years' experience in electrical production or manufacturing operations.
  • Minimum 5 years' supervisory or management experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office Suite and relevant production software).
  • Sound knowledge of production processes, manufacturing systems, and maintenance practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily Charge Room production operations to achieve production targets.
  • Develop and implement production systems and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor production output, man-hours, and operational performance.
  • Investigate production variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to optimise equipment performance.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with production planning teams.
  • Ensure machine availability and minimise equipment downtime.
  • Ensure required parts and resources are available for planned maintenance activities.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory regulations.
  • Identify, monitor, and report operational risks.
  • Maintain accurate operational documentation and production records.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resolve operational issues while maintaining high service standards.
  • Supervise and mentor Shift Supervisors and production teams.
  • Conduct performance reviews and manage employee development.
  • Support training initiatives and employee succession planning.
  • Address employee relations matters in collaboration with HR.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting and cost planning.
  • Monitor expenditure and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Promote efficient utilisation of resources while minimising waste.
  • Prepare operational and cost reports for management.
