Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience overseeing a maintenance or facilities function.
  • Experience managing a team of more than five employees.
  • Technical diploma (2-year) or relevant 4-year degree preferred.
  • Strong communication, organisational and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Proven leadership and team management ability.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to identify priorities and take initiative.
  • Professional, courteous and customer-focused approach.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong budgeting and stock control experience will be advantageous.
  • Willingness to participate in an on-duty roster, including weekends and after-hours emergencies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, budget and execute annual preventative maintenance and service programmes.
  • Schedule and oversee daily room and communal area maintenance.
  • Manage maintenance administration and reporting.
  • Control stock, purchasing and storeroom management.
  • Conduct annual and mid-term room inspections.
  • Perform daily site inspections and prepare inspection reports.
  • Manage Service Level Agreements and external service providers.
  • Coordinate contractors and maintenance suppliers.
  • Oversee maintenance procurement requests.
  • Project manage large-scale maintenance and renovation projects.
  • Review maintenance job reports and monitor team performance.
  • Identify recurring maintenance trends and implement improvements.
  • Attend to maintenance emergencies on a 24/7 basis when required.
  • Manage all facilities included within the property offering.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and optimise utility usage.
  • Ensure exceptional building presentation, cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Deliver an outstanding student experience through quality facilities management.
  • Lead and develop the maintenance, cleaning and gardening teams.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to continuously enhance operational performance and member experience.
