Description

Requirements:

  • Qualified Electrician, Fitter, or Millwright with a recognised Trade Test certificate
  • Minimum 8 years’ post-trade industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation troubleshooting skills
  • Proven experience in fault-finding and diagnostics on industrial equipment
  • Experience conducting safety inspections and maintenance within an industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of utilities generation and reticulation systems
  • Experience with:
    • Water treatment plants
    • Compressed air plants
    • Boilers
    • Ammonia refrigeration plants
    • Cold rooms and freezer rooms
    • Air Handling Units (AHUs)
    • Cooling towers
    • Transformers
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement
  • Willingness to perform standby duties and after-hours callouts when required

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine, preventative, and breakdown maintenance on utilities plant and equipment
  • Maintain, repair, and optimise utilities infrastructure to ensure efficient and uninterrupted factory operations
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults across electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation systems
  • Maintain and service water treatment plants and associated equipment
  • Maintain and service compressed air systems and plants
  • Maintain and service boilers and associated equipment
  • Maintain and service ammonia refrigeration plants
  • Maintain cold rooms, freezer rooms, and associated refrigeration infrastructure
  • Maintain and service AHUs and cooling towers
  • Perform maintenance and fault-finding on transformers and related electrical infrastructure
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with maintenance and safety standards
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and other technical documentation
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimise operational downtime
  • Provide after-hours technical support, including standby duties and emergency callouts
  • Identify potential equipment failures and implement preventative measures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving equipment reliability, efficiency, and performance
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • Work closely with the Utilities and Maintenance teams to ensure optimal plant performance
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with company procedures and applicable standards
