Why does a recruiter need your salary information?

By Anika Wilson

We often encounter candidates who are hesitant to share their salary information, and in some cases, they even withdraw from the process at this stage.

Here’s why we ask for your salary details:

1. Alignment with Salary Range: We need to ensure that your salary expectations align with the salary range specified for the role. Without this information, there’s a risk of wasting time—yours, the client’s, and ours. It’s a crucial part of the initial screening to match your expectations with the client’s budget.

2. Realistic Expectations: As your recruiter and consultant, we can offer guidance on what you might realistically expect in terms of an offer. This allows you to decide whether to proceed or withdraw based on informed expectations.

3. Fair Representation: We have no interest in undervaluing you. On the contrary, our goal is to represent you in the best possible light.
Rest assured, all the information you provide is treated with the utmost confidentiality and sensitivity. We protect your personal details and use them only with your consent, always prioritizing your best interests.

Confidentiality and our reputation are of paramount importance to us.
